Open Question: You can't live your dreams if you live in "sin"?

That's what I heard preacher say today. And I'm just sitting here naming off people in my head who is in "sin", according to Christians, but who has lived their dreams in life, or is living their dream now. I live in "sin" (to them) and I'm living my dream right now. I want to be a writer. Well, I do that all the time! Paul McCartney is still touring! He's still living his dream! All of the supposed sinner actors and actresses in Hollywood are living their dreams. Some people who are "sinners" on American Idol get to live out their dream by just making it to the top 12!I don't understand. He kept saying "If sin is in the way you can't live out your dream". But that's false. He also kept saying "the wages for sin is death!" I hate when preachers yell stuff like that. I felt so bad for the youth group sitting on the other side of the room. I was sitting there thinking "all of their dreams are going to be shattered because they have to listen to this stupid sermon about their dreams not coming true because of "sin"." If I followed Christianity, and if I followed what preacher said today, then I would have to shatter my own dreams of being a writer. Why? Because they wouldn't think that what I wrote was "of god". So, in reality, many Christians don't realize that Christianity is shattering kids' dreams all over.It makes me sick. I'm not saying all Christians are like this, but I just..man I can't stand it. Any thoughts, anyone?Spunk - Yeah, he said that too, about the forgiveness thing. He just kept acting like all these people who supposedly "sin" don't live their dreams out. Like, if a couple were to live together out of marriage (sinning), then it would be "impossible" to live out their dream. Basically, he was saying that "sin" gets in the way of dreams. I didn't believe it.Mark - Paul McCartney is still alive..if you think he's not then you're a conspiracy theorist.Princess-Don't speak out of ignorance, please.I know very well what you are talking about so please don't say that you are only "17 and know more about this than I do".I don't think you really understand what I'm talking about.You claim that "it's okay to sin but to ask Jesus to forgive you".It doesn't work like that if you are a Christian.The key is to NOT sin,at all.You don't take a hit of pot with your friends and,while doing it say,"I'll ask for forgiveness later".That wouldn't be "okay" in the first place.You don't sin on purpose just to ask for forgiveness later.I was a Christian for 8 years.I know all the "feelings" and "emotions" that go along with it.I know about everything you just said.I know that "hell" is the place of eternal torment.I do not "sin" to be "cool" or "have fun".I don't consider living my life a "sin" or "bad thing",but many will accuse me of it.It's wrong,and since I don't view it that way,I don't believe I'm living in "sin".
